Introducing… the Painted Voice.
I am very excited to introduce With Flying Colors’ version of sip and paint!
Similar to other sip and paints; we are offering an evening out to socialize, sip your favorite wine, enjoy tasty snacks, and create artwork with your friends in a relaxed creative atmosphere.
The difference is the creative content. We are using curriculum from our popular Art After School program, except that instead of simplifying the art projects to make them child accessible, we are presenting them in their original “grown up” version. We are selecting only the artworks that we have had a great time making and that lend themselves to the sip and paint atmosphere of socializing and relaxing. You will be amazed by how easy and satisfying it is to create your own “one of a kind” artwork based on specific, culturally traditional, artworks of people from far away lands!
Join us Thursday, June 15th from 6:00 – 8:00pm at Cornell Street Studios in Kingston. All art materials, tasty treats and instruction included. Bring your own favorite wine! Your $40.00 tax deductible donation will benefit art education for children in Ulster and Dutchess Counties. Call Jen Vinskey (845) 399-9918 to reserve your spot for this great evening out. See you soon!
Diyas and Rangolis
Robert Graves students did a beautiful job creating traditional Diyas (oil lamps) and Rangolis as they learned about Diwali.
This is the third lesson in the Holiday of Lights art block. Still to come: Sinterklaas, St.Lucia day and Taiwan New Year!
Robert Graves Elementary School and Chancellor Livingston Elementary School completed their first Holiday of Lights class. Dia de los Muertos!
They painted Calaveras (skulls) and made traditional Mexican Marigolds as they learned about how this holiday is celebrated.
The Fall/Winter session is beginning October 24th. This is a great way to put some artful play into your toddlers life. Class meets Monday mornings at 9:30. Join us as we create group, large scale, masterpieces of COLOR!
Visit our Registration page for payment options and more details. The Calendar is nestled under the Registration page.
Today our students will be learning about the ancient Chinese art of scroll painting. The physical dimensions of the scroll are very helpful when learning the concepts of background, middle ground and foreground in a landscape. These traditional landscape paintings also have a soft, fuzzy feel to them which makes it an accessible project for kids. Photos to follow!
Susan Mason Memorial Fund
In honor and remembrance of Susan Mason (April 19, 1942 – September 21, 2016)
Alison Vaccarino and I, co-founders of With Flying Colors, Inc. & Bard Alum, are honored to be members of Susan’s extended family. Susan Mason was one of the finest women that we have had the privilege of knowing. Her grace, intelligence and humor have had an enormous impact on our lives. We thank you for your gift to With Flying Colors and your participation in furthering our mission to bring quality arts education to young children. A portion of your gift will go to A Horse of a Different Color Scholarship Program; ensuring that arts education is accessible to families with need of financial assistance.
- Jennifer Vinskey & Alison Vaccarino
Susan’s children, Mary, Price, and her grandson J.P., believe that this organization represents three of the things that Susan loved the most: art, children and helping anyone in need. We are honored to have contributions to With Flying Colors made in her name.
- Mary, Price and J.P. Mason
Please make a donation in Susan’s name. Thank you.
